Our history
Wetron has been active as an international logistic service provider since 1962. In this year, Jan Maas founded the Weerter Transport Onderneming.
1962
Wetron has been founded by Jan Maas
1973
At the request of a few regular customers from Weert we have developed our first warehouse of 10.000 m2..
1995
Son Paul Maas takes over from Jan Maas. The first units per train are departing from the terminal in Born to and from Italy.
2001
The warehousing branch is being expanded with a new modern hall to optimize the logistical process.
2011
From and to Venlo and Busto Arsizio (Milan) there are daily train departures with exclusively Wetron units under our own direction.
2013
A new branch of warehousing in Venlo adds an extra storage capacity of 20.000m2
2016
After being active within the business for multiple years as operational manager, Mario op ‘t Root definitively takes over Wetron from the family Maas.
2018
In 2018 Wetron and TransMission officially merge to offer complete solutions for all kinds of transport.
2020
Again an expansion in Venlo for Wetron of 40.000m2.
2022
In 2022 Wetron celebrated their 60 year anniversary with a big party.
2023
In January 2023 Wetron has opened a new warehouse of 12.000m2 in Roermond.
This now means that Wetron has strong connections in the triangle of Weert, Roermond and Venlo.
