From our centrally located facilities in Weert, Roermond and Venlo we have covered a big part of Europe with our own fleet for over 60 years. Wetron can offer transport to all parts of Europe.

I have been employed at Wetron since 2011 and in the meantime I have received many opportunities within the business. There’s a good work environment and there is a balance between professionalism and having a laugh in between work. I can say we have a good connection among us colleagues, and sometimes they even feel like family. The staff association organizes multiple events each year. For example Sint Nicholas, a family day and every Friday we are welcome for an afternoon drink after work.

Op mijn 20e ben ik begonnen bij de Wetron. Ik merkte gelijk dat er genoeg mogelijkheden waren voor persoonlijke ontwikkeling. Zelf wilde ik graag nog een HBO opleiding doen in de vorm van deeltijd. Wetron heeft mij de mogelijkheid gegeven dit te behalen. Binnen het bedrijf kent iedereen elkaar dat is erg fijn. Voor de directeur ben je geen nummertje maar hij kent je persoonlijk en staat altijd klaar voor een praatje.

Personal approach

Wetron attaches a high value to a personal approach. At Wetron there is always someone available to contact and every question gets answered within an hour. Every customer will have a regular account manager to whom you can ask all your questions.

Wetron also prioritizes your shipments. We have a well-developed customer service team with Dutch, English, German and Italian speaking colleagues. You can expect quick replies and we offer multiple added services to simplify the entire process.

Quality

Wetron has a Quality management system based on ISO 9001 guidelines, by which processes can be analyzed and optimized. The performance is continuously monitored. Because of this we can adjust and optimize the processes when necessary. Wetron aquired the AEO document. In this way Wetron can ficilitate customs formalities.

Safety

The fleet of Wetron is fully equipped for ADR transport and certified with SQAS (Safety and Quality Assessment System). Our drivers receive regular ADR and safety courses concerning cargo security. Moreover, Wetron is in possession of a IFS 2.3 certificate. This means that Wetron may transport and store food and non-food goods.

Sustainability

Sustainability has been one of the top priorities for years at Wetron. Wetron is one of the founders in intermodal transport from and to Italy. Our train operates on electricity as a result of which the CO2 emission greatly decreases. This is how Wetron has already saved tons of CO2. We combine the modalities road and rails to optimize the flow of goods, bundle volumes and reduce the CO2 emission during transport. Sustainability is getting more important and the demand for sustainable transport is increasing. Calculating the total CO2 emission and decreasing this is a service we can also offer.

Wetron has received the Lean and Green award for this achievement.

Wetron has 2 crossdocks in The Netherlands and 1 in Italy. We can consolidate shipments which makes sure that we don’t drive with empty trucks.

Other than saving CO2 via intermodal transport Wetron is also busy with other ways of sustainable entrepreneurship. Multiple trucks already use HVO fuel. This is fuel on vegetable oil basis. With this we can even further reduce the CO2 emission. In addition to this the majority of our trucks have cleaner EEV and Euro 6 engines.

We offer all kinds of logistical solutions like Groupage consignments, smaller loads, full loads, intermodal transport and volume transport.

Distribution

TransMission Weert B.V. is specialized in fine meshed distribution within the Benelux and is a part of the TransMission-network: The biggest network of collaborating transport companies within the Benelux. Together with 13 partners in the Netherlands TransMission delivers more than 25 000 shipments consisting of pallets, packages and outsize goods on a daily basis. We have different added services to offer, like timed deliveries, telephone contact before delivery or clearing a pallet to take the waste retour. We have an appropriate vehicle available for every shipment and destination.

The network uses so-called linehauls. This means that night shuttles run to and from all depots. As a result, no extra transhipment is required so your goods are therefore not unnecessarily transhipped.

All partners are known regionally. This has the advantage, for example, that it is known when which shops or  roads are closed. This ensures high efficiency and reduces the margin of error.

HISTORY

Our history

Wetron has been active as an international logistic service provider since 1962. In this year, Jan Maas founded the Weerter Transport Onderneming.

1962
Wetron has been founded by Jan Maas

1973
At the request of a few regular customers from Weert we have developed our first warehouse of 10.000 m2..

1995
Son Paul Maas takes over from Jan Maas. The first units per train are departing from the terminal in Born to and from Italy.

2001
The warehousing branch is being expanded with a new modern hall to optimize the logistical process.

2011
From and to Venlo and Busto Arsizio (Milan) there are daily train departures with exclusively Wetron units under our own direction.

2013
A new branch of warehousing in Venlo adds an extra storage capacity of 20.000m2

2016
After being active within the business for multiple years as operational manager, Mario op ‘t Root definitively takes over Wetron from the family Maas.

2018
In 2018 Wetron and TransMission officially merge to offer complete solutions for all kinds of transport.

2020
Again an expansion in Venlo for Wetron of 40.000m2.

2022
In 2022 Wetron celebrated their 60 year anniversary with a big party.

2023
In January 2023 Wetron has opened a new warehouse of 12.000m2 in Roermond.
This now means that Wetron has strong connections in the triangle of Weert, Roermond and Venlo.
